Grinderman – The First Comprehensive Reissue of All Three Albums

21 May 2025

Grinderman, the visceral and untamed side of Bad Seeds Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos, will reissue their full discography, Grinderman (2007), Grinderman 2 (2010) and Grinderman 2 RMX (2012) on 18th July 2025.

All formats are available to pre-order now.

Grinderman came into being in 2005 when the four teamed up with the aim to create a more raw, primal sound which would diverge from that of The Bad Seeds, and lean more into Cave’s celebrated post-punk project, The Birthday Party. After a marathon writing session, the band went into a studio to begin demoing material. The cream of the songs were then recorded with producer, Nick Launay, in 2006.

Released on the 5th March 2007, the 11-song debut album, Grinderman, which features the singles “No Pussy Blues“ and “Get It On” was received with universal enthusiasm by critics. Taking time out again from The Bad Seeds in 2009, Grinderman reconvened to record Grinderman 2, which was released in 2010 and explored a more psychedelic territory than its predecessor. Grinderman 2 RMX followed two years later as a bold reinterpretation, and featured collaborations with Robert Fripp, Josh Homme, UNKLE, Nick Zinner and others.

The three albums will be re-issued on eco-conscious black vinyl and digisleeve CD editions, reinstating the band’s acclaimed catalogue for devoted fans and a new generation of listeners.

All formats are available to preorder now, along with a new range of merchandise at www.nickcave.com/store.
